Some good news: I got a “job”. It’s only 4 hours a week for 5 weeks teaching an anti-tobacco campaign to elementary kids. It’s better than nothing! And I’m hoping that it will be a foot in the door with the non-profit agency it’s through. I applied for a volunteer coordinator position with them and got rejected, but I wrote a thank you note and commended them on the type of work they do and they responded with appreciation and that they would keep my resume on file. Two weeks later I got a call about this job. It’s wonderful news, don’t me wrong, but 4 hours a week is still extremely discouraging. It’s like a tease. So I’m sitting here patiently *cough* waiting for something else to come through.
